A significant payday.

I imagine that our preferred scenario would be for Brentford to get relegated next season, for Toney to enhance his reputation and get sold for significant money, thus yielding us an even more significant sell-on bonus to fund, we hope, our drive to clinch unprecedented success -- namely a third season in the Championship.
Peterborough United are £1 million better off today (May 30) thanks to Ivan Toney and Brentford FC.
As you say it is certainly a significant payday.
And according to SkyNews https://news.sky.com/story/championship ... e-12320176
Winning the game is worth a minimum of £170m, considerably more even than what Chelsea or Manchester City could get for winning the Champions League final.
So, Brentford should be able to afford the one million to pay Posh.
You never know, depending on how ambitious Brentford are they might consider selling Toney to a top five club for really big money and pass part on to Posh and buy themselves another player or two to keep themselves in the Premier League.

Alphabet Soup served with Shrimps at Wembley

Toumani Diagouraga and Nathaniel Knight-Percival both played the full 120 minutes for Morecambe in their League Two play-off win over Newport.

Marcus Maddison has done an interview with Sportsbible

This seems so sad. I hope he gets some help.

That is an incredibly sad read.

I hope the bit about his car being keyed and him being assaulted isn't true, but then again they are lots of d1ckheads about who think football is more than just a form of entertainment and even his biggest detractors can't say he wasn't entertaining.

I was watching old clips on youtube the other day and still get goosebumps listening to the crowd reaction to him after he was subbed during the 4-0 win at MK in Aug 2019.

Marcus made the hair on your arms stand on end, more than once. He was a superb entertainer, whether he was scoring goals, providing assists for others or just being a complete clown, writhing around in agony whenever he was fouled. I miss him!
