Either that or the donkey is capable of looking after himself and doesn't need to be carried by the solider nor has he asked to be. If the solider is so worried by the donkey then walk in another field where there are no donkeys. The donkey isn't panicking, the solider is.

I’m shocked that you didn’t ask for the post to be taken down like the Wokes on Facebook, because it’s fake news, apparently, it wasn’t in WW2 it was a French soldier in North Africa.
