With the start of the GP season almost upon us, it'll be interesting to see if Sir Lewis tries to pressurise the other drivers into kneeling again. My hunch is we'll have to go through the farce for another season.

My personal view is that rugby have it right. They all stand together 46 players 4 officials, then those that wish to take the knee do so. The recent game France v England ten England players and no French took the knee. Of the 13 English that did not 2 were black.

Not related to taking the knee as such but did anyone see the interview with Katarina Johnson-Thompson on BBC Breakfast this morning? She announced she's setting up an 'academy' to fund and support someone who wants to be an athlete like her but the candidate must be from an 'ethnically diverse' background! Now it's her time & money of course but she's excluded someone from the opportunity based solely on race and skin colour.
A white athlete would not get away with excluding someone of race or colour but as usual when it's the other way around.....................

A good point Hants. It's also noticeable that only Dembele and JCH did not take the knee last night!!!HantsPosh wrote: ↑24 Mar 2021, 11:40 Not related to taking the knee as such but did anyone see the interview with Katarina Johnson-Thompson on BBC Breakfast this morning? Re: "The knee"
The two of them haven’t on the last few occasions. Why sit only English teams doing this I’m sure there is less racism here than in France for example

Re: "The knee"
Because they've got the media behind their cause here, especially Sky Sports who go overboard on it despite only having THREE people of colour presenting, Mike Wedderburn, Jessica Creighton (very occasionally) & Bela Shah. Wedderburn in particular mentions the 'taking of the knee' at the start of EVERY report he does.
Bela Shah, like virtually every female SSN presenter, is very easy on the eye so Sky are quite happy to adhere to that stereotype and cliche when it suits them.

They have Sky in France, I imagine it is just the British feed.

The trial of Derek Chauvin, the former police officer accused of murdering George Floyd by kneeling on his neck, has started in Minneapolis.
