The closed border is a good practice run for next year. It'll be a short-term disaster for sure. I'm sure it'll improve over time but I'd guess it will still be detrimental to the country. It's silly as what do we actually gain from leaving?

A deal agreed at last. It must have been a compromise on both sides. The detail may be in the small print but at least we can move forward now with a little more certainty.

Yes, assuming that the details are acceptable then this is good news. Amazing how the tabloids were hailing Boris as a hero before the deal is even released, just goes to show how much media control the Tories have. I reckon the whole rollercoaster was deliberate so Boris can look like he's the hero, desperately managing to secure a deal at the last minute.

A lot of people seem to think this deal is very poor. I've not read it but supposedly May's one was better, Boris trying to rally us all through blind patriotism though!

I've wondered this myself, what are these decisions that we can now make? I'm concerned that we've now lost our protection against workers rights such as paid annual leave. The EU laws have protected us & with the UK keen to regain some sort of competitive advantage, a "flexible" workforce could new their incentive for inward investment.
