POSH v BARNSLEY

Post by ashman »

Home form becoming increasingly important. I'm off to the Consultation Event concerning the Arena position before returning to London Road, hopefully with a few points into the bag!

A win over Barnsley, coupled with a Swansea home win over Reading, takes us out of the relegation zone, courtesy (largely) of the points deduction process. Funny old world.

Nice to see he’s given the team a good old shake up, but I’m surprised he’s ditched Szmodics in place of JCH

A disappointing result against a very poor side, perhaps Randall should have done better with his late chance. Edwards far and away our best player, although better showings from Knight, Coventry, and Cornell. Dembele, JCH, and Corbett didn’t gel at all and Szmodics didn’t improve the front line, having had 61% of the possession, a miserly two shots on target was not a great return, and I doubt either of them caused their keeper to lose any sleep at halftime. All in all a game we should have won has gone a begging.

There's just one certaintly to take from today's game and that is that both these teams will be playing each other next season, but unfortunately not in this league.
Awful game, void of ideas, skill and chances.
Relegation a certainly on today's performance.

TWO teams of rubbish equals big rubbish. Both deserve a lower League to play in.

When the highlight of the match was the floodlight failure, then it tells its own story.
We could have played through the night and most of tomorrow and we still wouldn't have scored!

Posh records, the highest number of goals scored in a season, 100% record at Wembley, 100% record in play-off finals, 100% record in meaningful games against Liverpool and Arsenal. The first team to be relegated in November????
