Re: Posh v Northampton
It will be if they change it to Sunday, meaning we'll only have two days off unless they change the Tuesday fixture to Wednesday as well, far better to have a different kick-off on Saturday or a Friday evening kick-off A Friday or Sunday change are essentially the same. It doesn't really matter as ...

Re: 6 games to go
Sunderland's next game is at Wigan, who must be feeling a little frisky after their four-goal romp at Doncaster. I must say I don't envy Sunderland their two games against Blackpool and their visit to Hull. Let's hope that what looks like their easiest game -- against the Cobblers on the last day of...

Re: Swindon v Posh
I thought he struck exactly the right note. Goal difference may yet come into play. We know we have a seven-goal performance in our locker. Today Wimbledon scored five at Accrington, 21st-place Wigan scored four at Doncaster and Oxford scored six at Crewe. We've managed a four-goal swing over Sunder...

Re: Christy Pym
In the EFL Trophy game against Burton in September, Gyollai let in two goals which most posters on this board could probably have saved. In the last ten games we've conceded thirteen goals, and I feel Pym could/should have saved six of them. The last one -- the free kick against Sunderland -- is deb...

Re: Tackling a Problem
Reed has one yellow card in fourteen L1 appearances this season, so I don't regard his yellow against Sunderland as 'the norm'; it was his first yellow of the campaign. Last season, he had one yellow and one red (2 x Y) in 24 L1 appearances, and his dismissal came in the 90th minute of a game in whi...

Re: 7 games to go
Given that we concede a goal a game anyway (38 in 39 games), it wouldn't be surprising if we continued in that vein; we could have no clean sheets yet still get promoted.

Re: Christy Pym
I’ll agree with Bennett and Feuer, but McGoo, he was so far up himself, thought he was better than us now he’s been warming a bench for someone lower down the pyramid. I liked ginger beard, can’t remember his name but he had a brother earning his living doing the same job Ben Alnwick. His brother i...

Re: Christy Pym
Am I alone in thinking that Ian Bennett is the best goalkeeper we've had over the past thirty years?
On the loan front, I thought Ian Feuer and Luke McGhee were pretty good.

Pym out for the season. Can someone remind me of the Luke Steele situation?

Tackling a Problem
Thompson’s uncontrolled lunge at Lincoln led to a red card and a penalty, which, fortunately for us, was missed. Poor tackling led to Hamilton’s red card against Hull. Poor tackling led to damaging penalties against Hull and Rochdale. Poor tackling led to us having Reed and Butler on yellow cards af...

Re: FLEETWOOD v POSH
Away win at a tough ground and we battled, tried to create and, got a bit lucky to win but would have been very unlucky to lose. Defence played well and special mention for Butler who really put in a shift. Reed and Brown did not lose the midfield but Szmodics and Ward were targeted and double mark...

Re: POSH v SUNDERLAND
We have to seek to reproduce the spirit of the 2-0 win over Leicester in 2009. Discipline is likely to be critical: we had Thompson sent off at Lincoln, and Hamilton against Hull, and we can’t continue to compete with our closest rivals when we’re a man down. There may be some residual acrimony from...

Re: FLEETWOOD v POSH
A tip of the hat to Siriki Dembele for opening the eye of the needle which JC-H threaded so dexterously; peeling away to open the gap at the end of the defensive wall at the free kick may prove to be his least celebrated but most significant contribution to this season. There is a number of positive...
