New Players

Realistically who would you like to see at the club next season? I think we are ok for strikers but who are these new defenders coming in? Young and hungry or old and wise?

You could probably put together a list of those who it won't be.
Who do you think it might be?

Czech Tomas Holy at Gillingham would be a Godsend (see what I did there?) if only we could push out the boat financially. Superb keeper, 27 years old, right at the peak of his playing career, 6ft:9ins. and not afraid to come off his line. Out of contract so would be a free but he is understandably wanting to play at a higher level. Ipswich said to be in the running for his signature. Whether either Ipswich or Posh would be considered a higher level is debatable!

Thing is, Lynch stands only 5 ft 11, and while he's three years younger than Holy, has played fewer than 200 career games. Believed to be talented, but age apart does fit our business model.

I have to say, under 6 feet is remarkably small for a professional goalkeeper in modern football.

Back in the day Laurie Sivell was 5ft 6 and played for 15 years at Ipswich

Not been snapped up before the age of 23 & only plying his trade at Kings Lynn..........hmmmm.

I'll check if Bourne Town have got a fat centre forward going too - they can always bang 'em in.
