Posh v Wycombe

Post by bristleposh » 27 Feb 2019, 10:48

With Toney out of contention, thankfully, it surely is time to start with two strikers. No need to pounce about with the usual trying to gang round pegs into square holes or Vicky Verky. Cooper and Maddison are not strikers, so should start as midfielders or wingers if they start at all. We have a squad of players, who have shown they are not capable of playing in the wrong position. Start with two strikers whether that be Stevens, Godden, Double-Barrel loanee or Penfold then bring it on. Remember two of those scored three goals between them in an U23 game the other day, mobviously play well together and are both young and hungry.

I can assure you that bristle has seen him play but this sounds as if Toney is going to be the next player for bristle to target!
I agree about smiling though but I reckon that Evans will have caused many far reaching problems, many more than a lot of us can imagine. We just have to show the club our total support and hope that Fergie can miraculously drag us back into some sort of a decent team.

Will it be a cardinal sin if Posh see off the Choirboys on Saturday?

I am sure if a cardinal was involved in any way at the club he'd thoroughly approve of the under 12's initiative

Just to get the message across, for the hard of reading, I have no problem with Toney per se, It's the one striker I have an issue with. If however you would like some feedback on the player I could cerainly offer some.

We have to win this game.
Doncaster fans will be saying they have to win. So will Charlton.
I'd prefer to see Doncaster in the top six (with Posh) rather than Charlton.
If both Posh and Doncaster win today we could well be on the way to that happening.

Posh 4 (Godden 2, Tomlin, Maddison) Wycombe 2
Half time
Posh 3 Wycombe 2
One more goal for Posh please. Tomlin can score it.

Bad luck Tony, number 4 was scored by Marcus (Magic) Maddison.

I was waiting to see what someone who had been to the game made of that. Personally when the team was announced I was underwhelmed because of the lack of two strikers, I was wrong when Tomlin, Godden and Maddison play like that there is no room for a second striker. The disappointment was in defence and the goalkeeping. Taffizolli was dreadful, White was a shadow of his previous performances as was O'Malley. Lafferty was turned inside out as was Naismith. Ward, Cooke and Woodyard were overrun, but thankfully the front three got us out of trouble, best game I've seen for about three seasons from Maddison, he was outstanding. Man of the match without a doubt.

Maddison was supreme and showed the whole gambit of his skills and talent in just one game. Scored 2 laid on one more goal and offered up at least 5-6 easy assists, not taken. Worth my money on his own.

Agreed Brian. He really is something different and we are very lucky to have him at our club. I just hope that he stays now instead of chasing the filthy lucre! bristle's condemnation of the rest of the team is getting really tedious!
