Bobby Doyle RIP

Post by ashman » 27 Feb 2019, 09:18

A good friend of mine and my then wife, when they lived in Orton Longueville. Spent quite a few pleasant evenings at each others houses having the proverbial 'meal round at yours!'
Played him at squash a few times but he was so bloody fit I just couldn't keep up with him.
When asked about my all time favourite Posh team Bobby is always in it, not because I knew him but because he was a hell of a midfield player. Hard as nails, quick, creative and hit a ball with ferocity when needed.
Only 65 years old. RIP Bobby.

At the time he was the best midfielder ever to wear a POSH Blue shirt, now he is amongst the top 5. Hard as nails but so skilful it wasn't true.

A wonderful player, exceptional on the ball. Loved him to bits. R.I.P. Bobby.

There will be a minutes applause on Saturday for Bobby (maybe for Christine too)

Excellent. If you have sorted this, I take my hat off to you.

Bobby, Christine and Tom Lindsey old time POSH fan who also recently passed away.

I can not take the credit. Mentioned it to the club and they'd already thought of it

One of my favourite players of all time. He was so stylish, and had a hell of a shot.

65 - no age.

R.I.P. Bobby and thanks for the memories.
