What a wonderful night, in my top three for sure.

Unfortunately I couldn't get there, as usual, but from my base at the time in Blackpool, I actually worked with a Liverpool supporter who went, he reckoned Liverpool were lucky to get Nil.

Ironically it was Grobbelaars mistake that was the defining moment, but if not for him we'd have won by three if memory serves. Liverpool only threatened late on with Fred Barber making one close range save (I think he was injured in the process) and a full length save from McManaman. Apart from that, Liverpool offered nothing, but that was down largely to Halsall and Cooper bossing the midfield.bristleposh wrote: ↑03 Dec 2018, 10:23Unfortunately I couldn't get there, as usual, but from my base at the time in Blackpool, I actually worked with a Liverpool supporter who went, he reckoned Liverpool were lucky vto get Nil.
