13/08/2019 v Oxford (EFL away)

Post by bristleposh » 12 Aug 2019, 08:05

Time for a couple of changes me thinks, perhaps Naismith and or O'Hara coming in at the back, Knight in midfield in place of Boyd who could be moved forward in place of Dembele, Ward in place of either Maddison or Eisa. Tasdemir back on bench.
...and before all the usual suspects mention the fact that our potenetial match winners Dembele and Maddison are irreplaceable I might point out two games one goal, and that from a set piece which I feel confident George would have been able to replicate.

I agree he needs to make changes for this one.

The big problem is the same one Ferguson had when he got the job in January - he still needs a central midfield.

Why this hasn't been addressed is the biggest mystery of all.

As boris johnson says , lets look on the bright side and see the great possibilities ahead

so far we have not lost a second half

our performance in the first halfs has improved from letting two goals in and now just one goal

if we go on improving at this rate we will be winning 4-0 by early September and by the time of brexit we will be running unstoppably towards the sunny uplands of the championship

fanciful? maybe

but in the past three weeks we have become accustomed to listening to tirades of such fancy with no foundation and easy manipulation of figures

Sounds like playing with 2 wingers and 2 strikers means we are losing control in central midfield. Would expect to play one of Eisa or Toney up front tomorrow, with Boyd or Tasdemir playing in front of 2 central midfielders.

I wouldn’t change the back 5 as they need more time playing together rather than mix and matching:

Pym; Mason Kent Beevers Butler; Maddison Knight Woodyard Dembele; Boyd; Eisa

Not a bad call for tonights team.

People saying they don't care if we lose need their heads testing! It's imperitive we get the season up & running before it's too late.

It's not coming up for me, I thought midweek games were available for all

I cancelled it this season because I never watched it last season. I'll do some individual games probably.
