Re: ex poshies
More goals for Doughty in one game than our entire midfield managed in a season last year.

Re: ex poshies
I wonder if that's down to coaching and management?DaveLister wrote: ↑05 Aug 2018, 15:48More goals for Doughty in one game than our entire midfield managed in a season last year.

Re: ex poshies
With Cummings, Naismith and O'Hara in our current starting line-up, we seem to have invested significantly in graduates of the 'pub league'. Traffic in the other direction -- Coulibaly, Lewis, Swanson and Forrester -- suggests that the definition of 'pub league' might include League One.

Re: ex poshies
and what you call the pub football league supplied the first british team to win the european cup
and then to get to the final a couple of years later
and no english club has ever won the cup with all players from england whereas the furthest born from celtic park was born only 28 miles away
must have been a good pub

Do you refer to the team that lost away to a team from Gibraltar last season, who many a pub team would beat.trevormans wrote: ↑13 Aug 2018, 15:29and what you call the pub football league supplied the first british team to win the european cup

Re: ex poshies
just a couple of weeks after the brexit vote
one of the first portents of the chaos to come
but not long before, they had beaten the all conquering barca at celtic park
i'd happily have a bit of embarrassment which can be put right in the other leg if you also get a night of european glory when they turned over iniesta and messi and co and you can remember that quite happily for the next thirty years and gently put the other as a minor aberration
and any team that had Jinky Johnstone playing for them were always potentially world beaters
