Good luck to him, although not good enough for us
Like Joe Day at Newport, we don't seem to want to give our young keepers a chance.
Neither were good enough for us 'at the time.'
I think it is a great shame, but we can't just hang on to them for too many years making mistakes to gain experience. Outfield players can be shifted on somewhat earlier but keepers mature later and need loads of experience behind them in order to impress enough to keep their place in our team. They also generally have a longer 'working' life.
The fact that Connor O'Malley has played the number of first team games and also been noticed internationally tends to suggests that we may just have a little nugget on our hands.

Not really he was signed from elsewhere.

Connor came from St.Patricks Athletic and will be 24 this August. He may be very young looking but is only 3 years short of Aaron Chapman who has only just turned 27. There should be some genuine competition between the two keepers this year.

Joe Day came from Alfreton Town aged 20. Conor O'Malley came from St Patrick's aged 19. Perhaps I'm being dim here but can you explain your point again bristle?

I thought he came from Rushden & Diamonds?

I'll apologise for my error I thought he'd come through our youth academy.

Joe Day signed from Rushden & Diamonds not Alfreton and Connor O’Malley signed when he was 23 not 19.

*Conor.

Connor is factually incorrect.

Hope this helps.

We LOANED Day to Alfreton before he moved on with OUR full agreement to Newport County.

Wow, just wow... Ex Poshie Kieran Sadlier scores from the penalty spot and then from his own penalty area. That makes Boyd and Madison's efforts look like tap ins.

Big fan of Gayle. One of the most natural finishers seen at London Road in recent times.

Joe Gormley fails to score as Cliftonville lose in the Europa League.
