Pub name changes

Post by bristleposh » 11 Mar 2016, 10:29

Why do pubs keep changing their names, you get used to using your local and then all of a sudden it becomes The Slug and Lettuce. We have a pub in Bristol called the Engineers Arms, apparently that was its original name, but it was also known in the 70s as The house that Jack built, is now The Brunel. Another was called The Isambard Kingdom Brunel and later changed to The Reckless Engineer. I get confused.

One has heard tell of a pub called The Halfway Inn has changed its name to The Disappointed Virgin.

I don't suppose that "one" had anything to to do with it?
