It is magnificent to grow old, if one keeps young.

You may have tangible wealth untold;
Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.
Richer than I you can never be--
I had a mother who read to me.

There is no danger of developing eyestrain from looking on the bright side of things.

Perhaps the best way to motivate others is to cast a beam ahead to where they already want to go but didn‘t know where it was or how to get there.

Desires cause peace to disappear. You think that acquiring things will make you feel secure, but the reality is that the more you have the more fear there usually is of losing it, and the further you are from peace. Desires are the cause of all conflicts. When you want something and cannot get it you become frustrated.

Learning to be free from desires is learning how to stay peaceful.

The greatest virtue is peace. Throughout the day, stop for a minute and ask yourself 'How peaceful am I at this moment?' If someone tries to make you peaceless, you mustn't allow yourself to be peaceless, no. Instead, look for the virtues in everyone and pass these on to others. Remain very sweet and peaceful.

Sometimes we find ourselves in situations in which we try to make others happy, even though in doing so we neglect ourselves and experience sorrow.

We often do things for the sake of others, even though it is difficult. And if this gift is not recognised or appreciated we tend to get upset.

I will experience the greatest happiness if I give without expecting anything in return. I have to learn to give wisely. When I give with a pure heart I will experience happiness and make those around me happy too.
