Hmmm, 305. Looked more like 385 at one stage.

Could be interesting.

Well played England. We do look very good if we bat first

England won easily which was the most likely outcome when they won the toss.
Both captains thought at the toss that the pitch would slow up.
They were right. It was a good toss to win.
This series was always going to end with Australia, England, New Zealand and India being the finalists.
At least that's what I said all along.
I also hoped that Australia wouldn't meet England in the semi finals and it looks as though that will be the case.
You could almost think that the series was rigged to ensure an England v Australia final.
The final could be a good game but it won't be a patch on test cricket.
Bring on the Ashes.

119/0 Great start from England but might need a massive total here.

I'd bring Stokes in next ahead of Root & Morgan to keep the momentum going.
I'm never sure about Root in limited overs cricket but at least he scores at about a run a ball. Buttlers advancement came to nothing on this occasion and your suggestion the Kiwi Stokes was unable to score freely and holed out in frustration. The Tyke and the South African got England off to a flyer but the innings then stalled as the pitch slowed and the Black Caps took the pace off the ball. England can now look forward to another away game at Edgbaston if the Aussies finish top , a very hard task going by the previous encounter. India won't take their foot of the gas next time.

Agreed. There is nothing to replace an England/Australia test match!

Aussies certainly don't look like finishing top.
The semi finals will be Australia v England and India v New Zealand.
The way the form of all teams has been recently the final will be England v India.

The Aussies very nearly chased down the RSA's big score but now meet the England team in Birmingham instead of an easy match with their cousins at Old Trafford. Will Edgbaston now be packed?

I wouldn't say either of the semi finals will be easy for anybody. But I do expect India and England to make the final.
I would guess that Edgbaston will be packed and millions will be watching on TV around the world.

Right now the bookies are saying that the final will be India v England.

India 1.28 New Zealand 3.60

They got the first half wrong with NZ beating India. It could be an all Antipodean final.
