His injuries remind me of those suffered by my old mate who was stuck in the rear seat of a burning 2 door car many years ago. His fellow back seat passenger died. I was horrified when I visited Ken in hospital - his head was burnt to a crisp and his fingers burnt down to stubs. He is still going strong at 78, his driver committed suicide.
Lauda did well to make such an early comeback and win 2 more world titles. RIP.

Sad but not unexpected as he had been unwell recently. A great driver in his time. RIP.

After enduring those horrific burns way back in 1976, he recently had a lung transplant. Unfortunately this time he couldn't battle against the odds.
