Favourite sitcom episode

Post by bristleposh » 19 Feb 2019, 12:24

Half inched from the other forum

Just thpught of a few that had I not been unearthed in my lattest guise I would have mentioned

Lots that were on their list, but obviously some on there like Sienfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Friends which by virtue of being American just aren't funny, only ones I can think of that were US made that deserved a mention should have been Married With Children, Cheers, Frazier and Happy Days.

The British sitcoms only went back so far so presumably nobody had ever watched George and Mildred, Rising Damp, Steptoe and Son, Dad's Army, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, Some Mothers Do Have 'em, Allo Allo, and Till Death us Do Part, I did see one mention of Hancock and a couple for Porridge,

The bit where I put “lots on their list” I forgot to say what they were. All of those you mention Dave were on there as was Bottom, OFAH, Porridge, Vicar of Dibley, Blackadder, Flowery Twats, LOTSW, etc

Yes that was one of the best - back in the days before live broadcasts! So trying to spend all day saturday avoiding the result until the highlights were on tv that evening - not as easy as it sounds.

Goodbyeee from Blackadder and the Young Ones on University Challenge are my two favourites. Backwards from Red Dwarf is disgustingly hilarious, and I can't recall an episode of Only Fools that wasn't good.

Niles Crane getting ready for a Valentine visit in Frazier's apartment. Brilliant slapstick and timing!
