Went to a gig last night, first time for several months. back in the eighties I liked a band called Kooga from Wales who were led by the vocalist Nev McDonald who went on to bigger things and had 5 minutes of fame as singer with the metal band Skin when they disappeared into obscuurity, he reinvented himself with a group of like minded friends in the band Hand of Dimes, now they gig around various small clubs and have been joined by guitarist/singer/singwiter from Whitesnake Bernie Marsden, who with David Coverdale had written most of their big hits. Last night at The Fleece in Bristol I saw a truly amazing show, despite not knowing a lot of Hand Of Dimes music they did an early Kooga number and at least one by Skin. Bernie Marsden did an acoustic set and then the two combined to belt out a stream of Whitesnake numbers including https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kYIRDUPtlI I was actually stood next to the bar where the barman shot the movie with his mobile phone.
