Veganism
Don't know much about the topic but there were two so called experts on TV this morning chatting about the benefits. One being that cows cause 24 or was it 28% of the earths greenhouse gasses in methane. Now forgive the old cynic in me, but if we all stop eating beef and veal, stop consuming yogurts, cheese and milk etc won't there be a lot more cows out there. Or do they just want to kill all the cows and stop their entire existence. I'm sure that hasn't t been thought threw. The same people complain about cruelty to cats, dogs etc, the evil hunters killing rhinos, elephants, lions and tigers etc, yet they want to eradicate cows from the face of the earth.
OK so I'm aware veganism isn't just about cows it concerns chickens and eggs, fish, sheep, pigs etc but some of those will have to be culled too, so what happens to their meat do you just let it rot somewhere is that entirely planet friendly. Any thoughts are welcome.

Re: Veganism
I probably know less about the topic than you do and I am not a vegan.
But surely if enough people stopped eating meat there would be less farting cows produced or eggs hatched into chickens. They wouldn't just be left to rot.
They say that there are more chickens in Australia than there are people. If KFC stopped selling them there would surely be less (chickens I mean, not people).
Of course they won't stop people eating meat. If cows really are an environmental problem maybe they should find a way to alter their diet.

Cows produce more methane through their breath than through the lower orifice! (Source: Qi)bristleposh wrote: ↑07 Jan 2018, 21:35Perhaps put them into nappies and utilise the methane as a source of electricity

I always thought that gas masks were to stop you breathing stuff in rather than stopping you breathing it out.bristleposh wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018, 00:05So a gas mask thenashman wrote: ↑07 Jan 2018, 23:31Cows produce more methane through their breath than through the lower orifice! I had a gas mask during the war so I should know!
Just as an aside mine was shaped like Donald Duck (I think). I wish my parents had kept it. It would probably be worth a fortune now.
