Ashes Fourth Test
Steven Smith won his first Test toss in this series and Australia are batting.
It's going to be tough for England to get any wickets before lunch.

And they didn't.
It's now 226 for 3 and the new ball is due.
Warner went for 103
Anderson and Broad have bowled better today.
For England to have any hope they really need to take a couple more wickets before stumps.
SPD Smith not out 55
SE Marsh not out 25

Re: Ashes Fourth Test
Well it's about 1:30pm here in Brisbane and i've just returned from a shopping trip.
The first thing I did was get a cricket score.
England are 335 for 6. So, leading by 8 runs with 4 wickets remaining.
Cook is still there on 168. Good on him. Making a game of it.
Don't be surprised if Cook gets 200+.
Whether anyone can stay with him who knows?
Someone must if England are going to get anywhere near 500. Which I think they'll need to win this game.

It's now 4:45 pm here. (6:45 am there?)
Broad was a great partner for Cook but was just dismissed off a controversial catch for 56.
Cook is on 236.
Game is definitely on.

Re: Ashes Fourth Test
at least the weather has helped us, we should manage to avoid the whitewash now.

Shame it had to be rain that saved England.

Re: Ashes Fourth Test
Pleased we didn't get whitewashed..as they didn't deserve it.
It's horses for courses...They beat us over there as the bouncy pitches suit them better.
We beat them over here as they...especially Smith...Can't play swing bowling.
Roll on 2019 when we get the urn back

Re: Ashes Fourth Test
There is no doubt that the rain saved England in this match.
Without the rain and the sub standard pitch Australia would have won and we would have been heading for a whitewash. As it is Australia will have to make do with 4-0 or even 3-1.
