Lunch on Day 4
England 119 for 5
England lead by 93 runs with 5 wickets remaining.

(Joe Root lbw b Hazlewood 51)

This game could still go either way but I think Smith will be enjoying his lunch more than Root will.

England all out for 195.
There's no way that Australia will score 170 runs today.
So, unless Broad and Anderson get cracking this game will go into Day 5

I thought we were 100 runs short first innings...

You can double that.

Smith's innings has swung it...and their bowlers have more firepower than ours.
Yes, you did think that England were 100 runs short in the first innings.
But they were only a few short of the score Australia managed.
But it was Smith's innings that enabled Australia to get to their score.
First innings
England 302 (Joe Root 15)
Australia 328 (Smith 141 not out)
Without Smith's magnificent innings England would have had a more than commanding lead.
Second innings
England 195 (Joe Root 51)
England desperately needed a Captain's knock from Root.
If ever England were one hundred short it was in the second innings.
As it is Australia needed only 170 to win this Test match.
Bancroft 51 not out
Warner 60 not out.
It is definitely not going to rain.
Some time this morning we'll be one up in the series which is what everybody expected before the toss.
And I doubt whether either Warner or Bancroft will lose his wicket.
But I still think England will put up a better show in Adelaide.

And David Warner and Cameron Bancroft eased Australia to a crushing ten-wicket win in just over an hour's play on the fifth and final morning.
Australia 328 and 0 for 173 beat England 302 and 195 by 10 wickets.
England will definitely put up a better performance in Adelaide.

I doubt whether England's players were distracted by overnight headlines concerning Jonny Bairstow's alleged altercation with Bancroft in Perth last month, even though some commentators thought so.
But this Cricinfo video is funny.

Steve Smith is not only a better Captain than Joe Root but also a better giggler.

Would Michael Vaughan, Steve Waugh or Michael Clarke among many other great Aussie skippers have reacted in such a poor way? Granted the questioner was very persistent but Bancroft was clearly evasive with his replies deliberately winding up his captain. Trevor Bayliss described it as nothing like a head butt!

It was a head butt. Full stop.
Bayliss will now discipline his players.
Michael Vaughan was not an Australian captain.
Steve Smith has already exceeded the exploits of Steve Waugh and Michael Clarke.
The video is funny, as I said.
Poms all over the place are so upset at getting a hiding that they can't bear to see Smith having a laugh.

Opps about Vaughan. I was just thinking about captains who the paying public have respect for and Smith is not one of those, especially after this 'giggling' incident!

Steve Smith thought it was funny.
Nothing alters the fact that Smith's batting and captaincy won this Test match.
Get over it
