Poll: Do you (or did you) enjoy your job?

Poll: Do you (or did you) enjoy your job?

Such a simple question really. And quite timely as we approach the Easter hols

I ask because in spite of occasional frustrations I could never imagine doing something different to what I do (which is of course playing the cello, and not telling jokes ot organizing inter-forum games!).

Just vote ONE option, but do please share your thoughts in the thread. I hope this hasn't cropped up before, bad luck if so!!!

Why "quite timely as we approach the Easter hols"?

My job for the final 25 years working in my own business before I retired had nothing to do with holidays. Easter or otherwise.
It involved working very long hours including many public holidays.
Yes. I enjoyed it. And I am enjoying being retired.
Being happy never goes out of style.

Yes, every day. Even though long stupid hours, enormous pressure and responsibility. Was there over 23 years.

Yes. Thankfully. I never take it for granted as I know not everyone is as lucky.
Easter is no different for us. Our Service is there 7 days a week, 365 days a year, 366 in a Leap Year
Been there 24 years.

Hated it, the problem was being more intelligent, lazier, and less qualified than I should have been. As a result I took the easy option every time. Given my life again with what I know now, I would have worked harder at school and tried to find a job I enjoyed and stuck at. All my own fault, the problems at school were mainly sexual, I was aware from about the age of eleven and tried harder in that area of life to sow my wild oats, nothing else mattered. Still doesn't if truth be told, but now I'm too old and tired to fulfill my ambitions.

Although being employed by the same nationalised company since leaving school (they sponsored my time at college too) I had a variety of jobs. Favourite was being in charge of the national electricity grid when on shift, the worst was my final year, working at HQ in Coventry. This required a weekly 180 mile commute first thing on Monday mornings from East Kent.

Only ever had 3 jobs, YTS program when leaving school led to 5 years at Builders Merchants. For a 16 year old girl THAT was an education! Then 1 year at a tv shop and now in my 28th year at an electrical retailer. Love my job.Do everything from accounts to sales to making tea and cleaning loos. Never give a job to someone else I am not prepared to do myself.

Circumstances have led me to a poorly paid job where the chat is lame but conditions are generally ok. Luckily I'm starting a new job in a couple of weeks with a much better outfit, paying much more and with more prospects & opportunities.

There's a combination of things which make a job enjoyable or not. The culture, friendships, management, customers, salaries, working conditions, personal satisfaction, interest levels and motivation are the main ones for me.
