Checkatrade Trophy Final

Post by tonyp » 31 Mar 2019, 22:10

Portsmouth beat Sunderland on penalties.
Great game. Fantastic attendance.
It was Lee Cattermole's miss that caused Sunderland to lose - it was a great save from Craig MacGillivray but Cattermole will still know he missed.

An excellent Final, well done both teams. Over 80,000 attended. Well worth a watch.

Biggest attendance in Europe apart from Barcelona v Espanyol and both their sets of supporters live in the city where the game was played.

We all agree that it was a great final.
But what a terrible ending for Lee Cattermole.
I've never liked penalty shoot outs. I can't think of a better solution though.
Any ideas?
Extra extra time?
Golden Goal?
Fewest fouls conceded?
Toss of a coin?
