Fair play at Newcastle?!

Post by daib0 » 29 Jan 2019, 00:46

Newcastle have now waited five years for a Premier League opponent to be sent off against them

Newcastle United have had 18 Premier League red cards since the most-recent opposition player was dismissed against them in a top-flight match. As of Monday, it is exactly 60 months - or, more precisely, five years - since an opposition player was dismissed against the Magpies in the Premier League.

Nobody has ever seen a player sent off because the fans are too far away from the pitch and unable to see what is going on. The worst Ground for a fan in the Football League and one that I will never be going to again..

They were spared a goal against by a pernickety referee last night. They then caused an upset thereby effectively ending the race for the league title in Liverpool's favour.

Well done the Magpies. A club this big deserves to be in the Premier League. I hope they can keep it up until the end of the season - their ground is still my least favourite away ground!

Despite its short falls viz-a-viz the poor view and the bloody oxygen needed when you get to your seat it's far preferable to freezing at Gillingham
