Away/change strips

Post by Poshay » 11 Dec 2018, 12:47

Are there any guidelines governing the wearing of change strips at away matches. Last night for example Watford who normally play in black and gold faced up to the blue shirts of Everton wearing an all green outfit. There would have been no clash had they worn their normal kit. There are many more examples, one being Huddersfield Town's change away from their normal blue and white stripes at red clad Arsenal. Have clubs not got a spare set of home kit (if it's impossible to launder the Saturday kit in time for a midweek match) or are they just trying to promote the sales of their away strip to their supporters?

If supporters had more sense they would only buy the home shirt, the nonsense of having a third shirt is even sillier, to change both home and away shirts every season is frankly extracting the urine

Thats meeee! I get my money’s worth out of the home shirt. They’re not too pricey if you wear them 50 times a season.
We go again...

Posh in white last night, their blue being easily confused with the claret and gold of City.

True, but we definitely need a second strip, for the times we have to play a team in blue. A third strip is nonsense but is not renewed each season. In general, it is the second strip from the previous season.
