It's a good job Marcus Maddison had full approval by the management to miss the start of pre-season training!
Anthony Grant missed the start of pre-season training at Shrewsbury earlier this month, due to having dental work done.
he has been banished from the first team squad for the season .......... and has been ordered to train with the youth team.
If that is the extent of his "misdemeanour" it seems a strange decision. Is it an attempt to "persuade" him to find another club? So long as he turns up for training & goes through the motions, he will have to be paid - easy money for him but a drain on the club's resources.

Read more carefully. There is something deeper than dental problems!

I'm sure that is so. Nevertheless, it still seems strange to me for the club to merely say he will not be part of the first team set up. If his misdemeanour was so bad, why was he not dismissed? As it is, the club will still have to pay him. Surely better to get him out of the club even if it means paying up his contract. I think the club is hoping that he will decide to leave of his own volition.

Is that the same Freestone who wasn't good enough according to all the experts  on both websites. I do hope there was money involved and that he didn't go on a free

Think he was a free agent. No money for Posh.

I never thought he was as bad as some people made out, but I also never thought he'd go to a premiership club.

He was an excellent prospect but unfortunately he spent half of last year on the physios couch. Good luck to the lad. He is big and strong and should do well if he manages to keep injury free!

Looks like Leo is going to Hull City.

Well done Leo, staying in the Championship when all the 'experts' told me he's conference at best.

And all those idiots on mumsnet who used to say that McCann HAD to pick Leo are looking more stupid than ever again now.

Grant McCann is, of course, the current manager of Hull City.

Last season LDSL's Championship experience was limited to a single twenty-minute substitute appearance. Thereafter, he went on loan to League One Gillingham, where he made fourteen appearances, rattling in one goal during that stretch.

Tommy Rowe scored for Bristol City the other day and did the full 90 today against previously unbeaten QPR.
