Official betting thread

Thought I'd split it up, rather than upset superposh with more betting chat.

Poshies are now around 1/8 (eight to one on) to finish in the top six. I would be putting my life on that but it really is our spot to chuck away at the moment. Watch this space...

Britt is currently 4/1 favourite to win League One Golden Boot but there's a bunch in with a shout against him.

Upsetting me :?

Far from it, I'm a betting man myself.

Would you really be "putting your life" at 1/8 on us reaching the play offs?

I'd want 12/1 on us for promotion as it stands.

As for Britt..I have a mate who's got 40/1 on him winning the league one golden boot.

Now that's what you call a bet!

My bad Superposh, thought it was you, obv not.

I would say neither. Just lol @ backing this bunch at 2/9 to hold sixth spot. Fingers crossed though obv.

I've just backed Burton at 20/1 for League Two. They're only 3pts off top and none of Rochdale, Scunny or Chesterfield is much cop. They have two winnable games this week, @ Pompey and home v AFC Wimbledon.

Also, Coral's 12-1 about 5.5+ goals Poshies v Brizzle City is pleasing enough. Neither team can defend and both have plenty of strikepower. Baldock and JET are both class at this level.

I can never afford to bet singles, but I would have thought a lay on Posh tomorrow would have some value in it. If you can do doubles on the lay I would have thought Man City/Rangers yesterday would have paid handsomely. Add in Barcelona from Saturday and you're quids in.

No offence dude, but that's some serious aftertiming!

Poshies are around 10-11, Brizzle 3-1, 5-2 the draw.

There are 218 markets on this match if you look at oddschecker, and the best bet doesn't always have to be on the outrights market.

If you wanted to play it safer I'd say over 2.5 goals is value at 8-11, but I prefer to play these markets more aggressively, hence going over 5.5 goals. This has all the makings of a Tuesday-night shootout for me.

Don't bet regularly but my ante-post is suddenly looking like it's in with a shout thanks to Southend's collapse. It goes as follows:

Sunderland bottom half (4/11) - CURRENTLY 2nd BOTTOM
Yeovil relegation (4/5) - CURRENTLY 3rd BOTTOM
Wolves top three (1/3) - CURRENTLY TOP

Southend bottom half (1/1) - CURRENTLY 7th BUT WITHOUT A WIN IN 9 MATCHES
Hibs bottom 6 - (4/5) - CURRENTLY 6th BOTTOM

Basically as things stand only Southend are letting me down but they're presently freefall and only 7 points off the magic 13th place with 11 games to play. Still an out-shot but the gap could close further tomorrow night as Southend face Scunthorpe away! To be in with a shout in mid-March is pretty good going for near 11/1 shot so defo at least got my money's worth. Here's hoping I can emulate my 16/1 ante-post success from last year!!

had £1 on Posh to win JPT at start of the season 9/2

just hedged this with

£1 Chesterfield to win JPT 5/4 (sorry TonyP a bet against Posh)

last of the big spenders, I know, its just for fun to beat the system £50 now in the account for an initial outlay of £10 5 years ago Coral online

I only bet on or against Posh
Plymouth to Portsmouth 2017 -2018, that ain't far

Fair play mate, that's a good profit margin. I don't do weekly coupons at all but this year I stuck £20 on the bet listed (£235 prize if it comes up), and £15 on a relegation treble which is doomed already. I see it as an investment as win or lose, it's good fun to follow teams you wouldn't normally care about, such as Southend who I now hate with a passion!! :D

That's bollox though. We're in a better position than any bookmaker to know what to expect. My biggest bet last season was on Wolves to win at our place.

Posh outright 11/1 (only technically open me thinks) 33p
Posh for promotion 9/4 £1
Posh top 6 4/6 £1
Posh out right 8/1 (another lost bet me thinks) £1
Plymouth to Portsmouth 2017 -2018, that ain't far

yep

I bet for Posh when we are in the top 8, against Posh when we are in the bottom 8 (sums vary on the sequence of runs etc)

the 2nd half of last season (until that horrible day at Palace) , and of late this season has not really seen the pot grow
