Premier League

Post by gazwilwah » 02 Mar 2018, 00:26

It seems to me that the PL is not about football anymore, the fans don't matter and all that doe's is the accounts at the end of the season. It seems the managers are not interested in winning any trophys at all, not even the league title really.
All they want is to come 4th place or higher and its all they seem to talk about, and it's also the fans talk about now.
I never thought i'd hear a young fan say he doesn't care about winning anything as long his team gets in the champions leage (which of course is anything but).

As a Posh fan i love the FACUP and I would love to see us actually win a league title one day whatever league that may be. I couldn't imagine supporting a club that sets out to just make the top 4 and win sweet FA.

I think it's a real shame it's gone this way because we have a great history in this country in domestic football, and it seems to have all been sacrificed for a league that is full of huge clubs in leagues that don't compare to ours.

The biggest problem is the Premier League!
Where league position and the Champions League is all about revenue and attracting players.
Rather than promotion, relegation and winning trophies.
Give me the football league any day!

Exactly, tbh I don't even care about the championship because that league is full of huge clubs and i don't think we are anywhere near ready to compete at that level. Darragh has his dreams and aspirations but i just want to see my club playing good football and challenging for the league title. maybe i'm in a minority.

It has been that way ever since the Champions League was introduced, teams strived to win the league when there was only one place in the old European Cup. It's all about the money money kerching kerching.

They will eventually over another few short years destroy themselves and the game as we know it at present.

Hang on a minute. Are you really saying you're happy for us to stay in the Championship (if we make it) and not even try to get into the Premier League?

Of course not!
We can always do a Burnley or a Bournemouth ..... and put this club on a sound footing

I would love to see Posh in the top flight, but not if it means all we want to achieve every season is a place, and we put out B teams for the cups because our owners don't place any value on winning them.

That is always the worry!
Fans taking second place to owners (of a business - rather than a football club)
