George Boyd has finished up at Sheffield Wednesday, always a good footballing side. Good luck to the Maestro.
Again, it shows he's just short of the level for the Premier League. Great player at any other level though.
Did you take your rod on your fishing expedition?
My point is valid, hence the reason why he's spent the vast majority of his time in the lower leagues. Case closed!

How many appearances has he made in the lower leagues? I'm not having a go, the Premier League is very hard to crack with all the foreigners. He did well at Burnley & Hull but no other clubs in the top league wanted his services. Still, he's done really well!

Boyd has spent nearly half his entire career in the top two divisions of English football. He could have given up professional football and played in Scotland but he's still got something to offer the game.

Think you've missed the point Dave, we're talking about his ability at the very top level. Talking about appearances in the Championship prove my point.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can the Championship be interpreted as the lower leagues, especially for a guy who is, let's face it, in the autumn of his career?

I loved Boydy, I wanted to see him make it in the prem, and at international level, but he has not really flourished in either

so yes Championship is a lower level, just saying IMO

If you read my point, I've stated he's a very good player but just short of Premier League standard. A few feeble responses & a couple of changes of the goalposts later, most people seem to be of the same conclusion.

Hat-trick at Southend this afternoon puts him on 17 for the season (14 in the league).

His contract with Walsall expries in the summer.

Will height stop Championship sides coming in? Could be whoever offers the biggest wages among the L1 leading lights.

Any chance he comes back we think?
