Kitchen sales

Post by bristleposh » 03 Feb 2014, 11:03

The spam readings are getting pretty hot again at the moment, they seem to have found a way past the security. Can the beggars be stopped.

No. The best way is just ignore them and the mods will delete and ban the perpetrators. If you reply to them on the forum it apparently makes it more difficult for the mods to spot them.

I always report them, but I thought those responsible for site security had managed to stop them, they appeared to disappear for several months, a small tweak of the strategy put in place would surely see an end to them.

Maybe they were too busy making kitchens and now things have gone quiet for them so they are looking for more business. :)

Paid them the 50% deposit and they said they'd be back in touch last week to arrange a time to fit the new kitchen. Still haven't heard from them funnily enough, better chase them up! :D

The spam would appear to be returning, I don't suppose there is anything like adblocker that can stop this at source. I know there must be 100s each week so it must be more annoying for mods than the rest of us, but somebody must be monitoring who is allowed membership, are they all getting past the catchas etc or have they found a way round that too.

:stupid:
There MUST to be a way to stop them.

Maybe someone from this message board should have an email discussion with CanadaPosh (http://www.londonroad.net/Forums/member.php?u=86)who is in charge of the LondonRoadnet board.
Since Steve (CanadaPosh) took over the running of the board from NelsonPK they've never seemed to have problems with unwanted members, or anything else if it comes to that.

I'll vouch for that, my latest id lasted three posts in total, it seems every day they post in all seven possible departments, once each with the same more info at dontclickonme.com link

Just to see what happens, I applied to register under a new name.
There are a few questions which i think could only be answered by a person and not a machine.
Chances are kd 22 etc is a person.
All we can expect is that the mods get rid of them as soon as they appear. And that is what seems to be happening.
I really can't see what else they can do.
By the way I didn't register under a new name.

Course it hasn't been re-instated, not sure that is even possible. I'll just call you Mr Paranoid.

There's an update that needs doing - which I'll try to do very soon - that may fix some spammers.

We could also turn on approval for new members if that doesn't work.
