Good. Chapman is a better keeper anyway.

He was almost without exception woeful last season and O'Malley also failed to impress.

Chapman absolutely should be decent but doesn't utilise his height or his vocal chords which is an integral part of a goalkeepers armoury.
Both decent shot stoppers which is to be expected but vast improvements required.

In the pre season friendlies I saw I must say Chapman has been working on certainly his talking to his defence, even came for a few crosses and so possibly it is he who has featured on the bench because an improvement (much needed) has been seen and the same can not be said of Connor.

Just read my post several times over & I can't find anything that says Chapman isn't on the transfer list - bless.

Chapman is a better keeper - fact. Keep up.

The link was about O'Malley going on the list in addition to Chapman. Keep up!

Chapman is a better keeper, opinion only.

To be honest, I'm not 100% convinced by either. Pym has yet to convince me either.

In fact Aberdeen have got a keeper better than any we have had for the last 7 years

Joe is also their captain and has become an integral part of their team. He was good when he joined us too but suffered a real pommelling and his game suffered so much that he was sold. He was still 'young' in goalkeeping terms when he left.
All this shows how players mature at different ages (and not just keepers) and this is why abuse aimed at players always annoys me. As Nipper ofter says "He didn't mean to cock that up!' and she is so right.
The problem is that we all demand instant results and sometimes players have to be listed and we then find that they have become much better players a few years later.
I'm sure this will apply to both O'Malley and Chapman. A shame really and maybe we need to recruit keepers at later stages of their careers.

I fully agree. I was very disappointed with the treatment that Joe Lewis got from some fans and I was very disappointed to see him go and as I suggest above, he should still be with us.

Joe leaving was the correct decision for him and us at the time.

Please remember that his being 'successful' didn't happen the day he left LR, it took a while as he improved himself both on and off the pitch.

No nicer bloke has ever played for our club and nobody should begrudge him anything he's achieved but please don't let that alter the facts that he made too many mistakes in a side that didn't make many elsewhere on the pitch.

He's now a better keeper than we've had for 7 years I'll give you that but he hasn't been for all those 7 years.

100% correct.

The treatment Joe received was diabolical & showed a total lack of knowledge. I recall some 'fans' saying that Bobby Olejnik was a better keeper.

Joe could have had a long & distinguished career with Posh but he became the scapegoat at the time & people couldn't think for themselves.

He really wasn't a scapegoat. He had a long run of appalling mistakes and as Adi said 'It was the right move for Joe at the time.' He is also right in that it took him quite some time to become loved by the Aberdeen fans.
Bobby Olejnik was an improvement.(at the time!)
