Replacement ref: ROBERT JONES
Bob Jones?

Will he turn up looking like a bag of **** on his bike, book players before the match has even started and then rip up the page out of the book if that player behaves himself.
One for those who played local non league a long long time ago
According to Soccerbase.com he has refereed only one League 1 game this season. (Blackpool 2 - 2 Rochdale. 7 yellows). Most of his games have been Championship games.

He did referee the FA Cup game Aston Villa 1-3 Posh on 6th January 2018. 4639 Posh fans.

I can't find any complaints about the referee.

There seem to be a lot of empty seats.
I don't know the ground well enough to know how significant that is but hopefully it doesn't't mean our predictions of a big crowd won't be way out.

Adi's mate Bob Jones gives the first yellow. To Gillingham's Luke O'Neill.

Well, 3 points is 3 points, but 39% possession at home against a mid table side doesn’t sound too promising. Look forward to reading the reports from those who were there.

Posh slightly the better of two mediocre teams. Those poor children who were taken on freebies could successfully sue for child cruelty. Godden won more headers when he came on than Toney did before he was subbed. The latter seems to have been attending the Maddison School of Fragility.

The way that Ivan Toney gets treated by opposing defenders is awful. The lad does a good job against terrible odds. Godden did a good job when he replaced Toney, ran his socks off but only had 25 minutes to make an impact. He certainly did that by winning an important header into the path of Maddison who squared the ball back to Godden who passed the ball into an almost empty net. Maddison again with a goal and an assist. MOTM for me a toss up between Woodyard, Tafazolli and Reed.

They had 61% of doing sod all with the ball.

Gillingham were the sort of team you let run out of ideas in front of you and then you pick them off. It doesn't make for entertainment but it was a very easy three points.

Thought not too bad a game. We have improved enormously since Mr.Evans left us. Good attitude showed, very good games played by Reed, Maddison and Dembele. We have played much worse and Gillingham were not total pushovers.
