Does it matter who Ashman is?

Yep, Evans would have had us 6th..........oh, exactly where we are now.

Edit: We're now currently 7th. A place below Evans, even with the new manager 'bounce'

Fun fact for you Gaz.

Evans team of League Two players was in freefall from the playoff places since before Christmas, unless I'm making up that run of results since then. The only reason we're still in the top ten is the poor form of other teams.

If we're doing 'fun facts', here's one for you.

When a football club changes manager, it's ALWAYS to find an upturn in form. Do you think Southend just sacked Powell hoping they now get relegated? Do you think West Brom directors now hope to slip out of the play offs?

We may as well have stuck with Evans this season - he's always been stronger in the second half of the season. If he failed, employ the Yes Man when propmotion is impossible (it's not as though anybody would have stolen him from under our noses anyway).

In the hope that form improves, the football has if not the results although of course the fat bloke may have lost every single match for all we know.
Neither Southend or WBA have a guarantee either will happen.
I'd stop the crowing until May mate, you may be gutted and we may do well.

I'm adi in case you weren't aware as it seems important to you :D

Do you think Southend just sacked Powell hoping they now get relegated? NO
Do you think West Brom directors now hope to slip out of the play offs? NO
and from Dave's question
The only reason we're still in the top ten is the poor form of other teams. YES.
And that is the main reason why we might finish in the play-offs.
Only my opinion.

Credit where credit's due - you have never hidden your identity. Anyway, I know who ashman is now

Of course there's no guarantee a new manager will work but directors and chairman change them in the hope they do.

If we finish in the play-offs it's where we were when Evans was here, so that is not a success. Once in the play-offs, it's a lottery, so again, no proof of a success.
