Worst Posh team of all time

Post by bristleposh » 01 Oct 2018, 10:00

Cynically pinched from DotNet.

Having gone through the thread this morning I can't believe some of the names on the list, I never rated Joe Lewis, but he was far from the worst, Greimink for me, or Cooksey. Nobody mentions Mark Little yet for defending as a right back he would be up there OK I've seen far worse in that position, so it's acceptable to have a winger playing as a defender. Gaygun (I never could spell his name is a shoe in at centre baclk along with Dave Rogers although Futcher must run them both close. Nana outstanding as left back. No mention of Adil Nabi as a midfielder seems odd to me although Adam Fry and Danny Rose during his spell at Posh came close, how on earth did he become an England player. Loads of strikers have been awful Barnett and Forrinton because of the fees involved, Benjamin, Reid and Bogle the latter two being on loan and obviously didn't want to be here. Look no mention of Marcus, that's because he's a great player, he just has a few annoying traits.

Joe Neenan must be your goalkeeper. Far worse than Gremink, at least Bart could kick the ball.

Why would I when played in their correct position, which they were for most of their time at Posh, then there have been far worse players at Posh, however meddles once played Marcus at left back if that were the criteria he'd be vying with Nana for a place in the team. Going back to Mark Little, on the rare occasion played with a back three, with him as a wing back he'd be one of our best players, but sadly we generally played with a flat back four and as that he was awful, I could have defended better.

You failed to see the  and the  just like you have taken three years to realise just what Marcus Maddison is all about. The lad is a genius and genius players will have off days and annoy some, but whatever he does it is always watchable and that is what most paying punters want from their buck. I just hope he stays now, as he appears to be really enjoying his football and deserves to go up with us into the Championship. He even celebrated with Toney and a few others when our second goal went in, and that is not like him at all!

not that I want to stick up for meddles EVER but..........Callum Elder was injured at Blackpool never to return & we had no-one else to play LB over Christmas. As soon as we got to New Year he signed Laurie Wilson on loan to play there.

and as for worst ever players, ladies & gentlemen I give you.........

Simon Gillett!
