Posh v Luton

Post by superposh80 » 14 Aug 2018, 23:11

Here's something to look forward to...

A good match up between 2 sides with top six intentions. Luton have only a point to show from their first 2 games but don't be fooled... They're a good footballing side and backed by a sell out 2.4k travelling fans they'll provide a serious test for us.

Chapman... Naismith. Tafazoli. Bennett. Daniel... Woodyard. O'Hara. Ward. Dembele... Godden. Cummings.

Wouldn't play Ward myself....but I reckon Uncle Steve will keep faith with the side that's 2 wins from 2.

Bring it on.

Ward was one of the players who didn't track his runner v QPR.

6-4 Poshies, 5-2 Draw, 2-1 Luton.

For sure Luton will be knocking on the door of the play-offs this season and we'll do well to get more than 40% possession against them. We'll need to be right on it.

In a funny way it will have done us good to lose at QPR and expose a few weaknesses ahead of this match, yes they are better than Rovers and probably better than Rochdale, but we are also a step up and they will see danger too. Its going to be a big game for the 12th man.

Up the Posh.

As Uncle Steve has said.... Whatever happened to Hants btw? I'm sure he/she'll be back when we lose a couple... We're facing a step up from Bristol and Rochdale here.

Difficult one to predict....and no I won't be going on the guess how many we're going to win by thread either.
I'm doing what Uncle Stevie has told us to do and judge him & his new team in January, so won't be complaining about a defeat or getting all excited after a win like you have been.

here we go again the usual THREE protaganists hiding beind their keyboards in defence of Uncle Stevie.

I clearly stated that come 3pm on the Saturday of the Bristol Rovers game onwards he had my support because, unlike some, I don't want us to lose and want us to be successful & I didn't want us to lose to QPR neither am I glad we did so, again something not everyone can say.

and not that I have to justify anything to people on here but I've been dealing with a family bereavement of my 14 month old nephew from meningitis & went to Tuesday's game as a distraction for the evening

Dembele and O'Hara rated questionable for this.

That's why I'd have rested both v QPR.

Would be a serious blow without either of these two.

Maybe Cooper could do a job for Dembele...but O'Hara would appear pretty much irreplaceable.

"Peterborough United manager Steve Evans is preparing to gamble on wantaway winger Marcus Maddison in tomorrow’s League One clash with Luton at the ABAX Stadium (August 18, 3pm)."

Sigh, so it begins.

Which puts things in to perspective, football is just a game. What has happened to your nephew is a tragedy, may I offer condolences to yourself and all your family.

Inevitable I guess. Best way to get him out the door assuming he doesn't want to be here is the numpty to show what he can do best on the pitch

..... and the numpties on the terraces booing him every time he touches the ball won't help either. Marcus is still our player and, while he is still with us, I shall support him 100%.

Same old story I'm afraid. There's always an idiot in the crowd that boos or moans about one of our players. last year it was Leo... this year it has to be someone else sadly. if he knuckles down then we all benefit, if he doesn't then he is a passenger we can't afford to carry. Hopefully he does. Be nice to see him on one side and Dembele on the other
