He is a footballer

He is not of high intellect

Some can handle drink some can handle gambling

Many cannot

He is one of ours

Let’s hope he can sort himself out

And for me he will not serve posh well

Shankly used to say he would sign the man before he signed the player

A sound maxim

But he is still one of ours

The lad obviously has 'demons' he finds hard to control, and as I come from a family who has also has to deal with relatives suffering similarly, one tragically, I can with much pain, relate to the consequences only too well.
Have to say though didnt know about his brother that on it's own must have been hard for the lad.
Reading between the lines, not playing doesn't seem to help the boy and perhaps a return to the conference or L2 where he will get that game time will do the trick, and he needs to do that not just for football reasons but more importantly, his well being generally. Here I assume is also where the PFA come to the fore, as he obviously needs help, but as we all do at times, I am not going to kick the lad.
Clearly he will never play for us again and rightly so, but that doesn't mean with a clear head and a manager who perhaps knows or trusts him teuats he can't be an asset for someone.....but time is running out

I wish him all the best and hope that his demons are sorted, and sorted quickly so he can resume his chosen trade before it is too late.

He's not " one of ours" for much longer.

Never really saw him as one of ours but do hope he gets the necessary help he needs. He blew any chance he had here with his antics, and was clearly out of his depth. For every Marriott there will always be a Miller.... or Joe

When I see comments like that then I wonder why would anybody bother

I have no knowledge as to what a meathead is. Nor would I wish to know

But comments such as that show a level of maturity which one would hope had been left behind by the third form

I didn't know that his brother was a fire fighter who was killed while carrying out a rescue at a burning building. My sympathies are expanded to him even more. No excuses for threatening to 'bite the nose off' one of the arresting police officers, as well as shouting abuse however. The lad needs help, and quickly, so he can maybe resurrect his career.
