All away: Stamford, Bedford, Peterborough Sports and my favourite pre-season trip, St. Neots.

Games will only go ahead if the respective pitches pass an inspection by a member of qualified professional horticulturist Uncle Stevie's team. Anything to avoid actually doing what he's paid to do & that's COACHING footballers!?!?!

The Management set up has NOT changed, the Coach coaches and the Manager manages AS IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN.

Really?

Anywhere or at POSH do you mean mate?

There are numerous examples of manager/coaches not least (however unsuccessful) earlier this season at LR.

Dave Robbo too was a coach first (leave it  )

As it happens Evans does do coaching on a one to one basis but indeed generally it is Raynor who coaches and trains the squad.

Historically many managers never took training, it has been recorded some only saw the players on match day but that was when everyone smoked, and all men wore Brylcreem and ties.

Anyway back on thread, I like the local games format although hopefully one 'big' home match will be announced (not that many bother going)

Sweeping statement there Brian. Many a time have I been up to the training ground to watch training and, Fergie in particular, has been the main man doing the coaching from the line and also at any break/half time. Some do, some don't. We will see if Raynor or Evans or both do the majority of the coaching next season as, allegedly access to the training ground is going to be an open book next season.

Posh to play CS Maritmo. Finished seventh in the Primeira Liga last season.

To be played Wednesday 18th July (10am kick-off) at the Bela Vista Stadium in Parchal, Lagoa.

I take it that CS Maritimo are touring The Algarve too, they are based in Madeira at Funchal.

Was out there last week. Drove through Lagoa every day, nice little town. For anyone interested, the stadium is not in Lagoa but a little further up the N125 road going west from Lagoa, probably nearer to Portimao.
