Micky Gynn was 5ft. 4in. Didn't do him any harm!

http://www.soccerbase.com/players/playe ... son_id=150

career stats above (hopefully the link works) never played for Middlesborough's 1st team.
I don’t think Maddison played for Newcastle’s first team, Grant didn’t play for Chelsea, Jimmy Bullard didn’t play for West Ham, Dwight Gayle didn’t play for Arsenal, Joe Lewis didn’t play for Norwich, there are many examples of Premiership/Championship clubs letting players go I don’t think it makes an iota of difference, soccer base and Wikipedia appear to have the wrong stats for his appearances apparently he made 34 apps for Blackpool last year.
Totally irrelevant.

He did make 34 appearances for Blackpool, 23 starts 11 subs = 34 and if it’s totally irrelevant why mention it in the first place.

Nabi never played for West Brom either and look how that turned out. Let’s hope he’s a Dwight Gayle rather than an Adil Nabi. If he does turn out to be an Adil Nabi maybe we should have kept Forrester and should keep Grant. If he turns out to be a Gayle then Evans will have been proved correct in jettisoning them.

We also signed a Chelsea reject back in the day who turned out to be a dud, he was so poor I cant remember his name.
Tommy Rowe at Manure and David Ball Manc didn't turn out to shabby really. It was you mentioned the fact that he hadn't played for Middlesbrough's first team first. Which was my comment about irrelevant.

True but he didn't plan for Evans, which was my point!

Not sure I'd you're being positive or your usual negative self... Does it get tiring being this miserable?

I wouldn't have thought Cooke would have been very high on the summer shopping list....

That was my first reaction too. Go buy Longstaff and things would have got very interesting.

Not writing the guy off before I've seen him play but I'd want the target man to be a bigger, more established name if I'm being honest.

As superposh 80 said I very much doubt Cooke was high on this summer's target list. Smacks a bit of quantity not quality but hopefully he turns out to be the signing of the summer.

But hey keep on with the blind faith in Evans if it makes YOU happy.

Cooke's been signed because of King's injury... and as back up.

It's not the marquee midfielder signing some were hoping for!
