I wasn't aware of that but having read it it doesn't appear to effect the service from Brum

Good news and bad news ......

The Arriva trains affected are the larger trains nornally restricted to the South Wales Valley routes.
The only trians that goes through Shrewsbury are the Cardiff to Manchester and Cardiff to Holyhead.
So long as Bristle is going via Brum and not via Newport to Shrewsbury he should be fine.
The Birmingham to Aberystwyth or Birmingham to Chester trains, which go through Shrewsbury are sprinter trains, so a different type and not affected.

The weather warning for Shropshire which was originally meant for Thursday and Friday has now been extended to Saturday.
So it doesn't look like the temperatures are going to go above freezing before then.

Hopefully the covers will be kept on the ground to stop it freezing and by Saturday afternoon the weather will improve sufficiently for the game to go ahead! The forecast for Saturday afternoon is minus 1 and the ground doesn't have undersoil heating.

Thanks for the update, Is it the trains from Nantwich or Crewe that are affected, because that is our train, they usually go on to Cardiff after Shrewsbury

Yes stuie, I was just coming back on to say they have announced an inspection of the ground will take place tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed.
Hopefully you will have other train services to Shrewsbury besides the Arriva Cardiff train.

There will surely be a blanket cancellation of matches at the weekend including ours. Even if the pitch is playable the H&S executive will be on call telling us the ground and stadium hasnt been cleared, and surrounding areas and roads are too dangerous and on a scale of 1-10 of it being on my money would be like the temps -5!

Actually wouldn't mind this being called off.

It's been a whirlwind few days and a break before a big home game against a near-rival would be ideal.

Anyway, let's have a crack at naming that first side.

He's been setting up Mansfield in a classic 4-4-2, so guess we should expect the same, especially given DMac's preferences and an expensive loan striker on the books.

Bond; Hughes Baldwin Taylor Shephard; Maddison Forrester Doughty LDSL; Bogle Marriott.

Although I suspect Morias is more his sort of striker than Omar.
1-2 Blackburn, 7-1 Poshies, 7-2 Draw. 1-2? Like finding it on the floor!
