I am not a fan to Evans. Nothing to do with what has been said about past discretions but more to do with what I have read and heard about his managerial style from previous players who have played under him. Much is made of his supporting of Posh and the fact he lives locally, much as it was of Ricky Miller, who proved that this counts for nothing.
There was always an inevitability that he would at some point become the manger of Posh, and while I hope he proves me wrong I suspect it will be better to get this page of the clubs history out of the way sooner rather than later.
We could soon see the return of Ricky Miller, Bobby Olejnik, Christian Pearce, Haydn White and/or Alfie Potter!
Is that really the best you can muster?

The more abuse I read aimed at Evans on Twitter, Facebook and on forums, the more I like the guy and the fact that we've signed him.

You know he wouldn't give a flying *^&* when any of these sheep think.

Football is an entertainment business people, don't ever forget that (like McCann did).

As for the rofflers threatening not to renew their season tickets as a result, GET OVER YOURSELVES.

Shows the mentality of an 8yo and you're obviously not a genuine fan in any case. Go ahead, DO IT!

I hope he does everything possible to upset the idiotic snowflakes. Wears a sombrero over his streaks, puts on eyeliner, swears at a fan behind the dugout, upsets the opposition manager. More the merrier for me.

As an aside, I haven't read too many welcoming a Posh fan to the helm. "He's one of our own, he's one of our own..."

Hi all, Stags fan here.
First of all im gutted Steve Evans has left us, especially at such a crucial time. I suppose what disappoints me most is that he contacted your chairman despite always having the full backing of our Chairman. Heyho thats football but don`t be surprised if a better offer comes along he will do exactly the same again. Steve Evans is certainly a character, his behavior on the sidelines is embarrassing at times as is his comments towards his fellow professionals. I have seen referees turn a blind eye to blatant decisions and i am certain it is because the ref is sick of hearing his splurge from the dugout. Thats the negatives over. What Evans will bring you is attacking, free flowing football, a 100% determination to improve your sides fortunes, an us against them mentality and probably success. When he took over at Mansfield we were a mess. Poor players, unfit players, no direction and a hoof ball style of play. Very quickly he turned those same players into a half decent outfit that unbelievably nearly made the play offs. With that in mind id expect your results to improve quickly. In the summer and again in January he recruited well (apart from Lee frightened of messing his hair up Angol) and recruited well again in January so he knows the market. The fact is if you only care about success and results Evans is your man. If you care about how your beloved club is portrayed then im afraid i cant see him improving that. I for one want results and success and dont particularly care what other managers or fans think of our manager, thats why im gutted hes gone. Good luck for the rest of the season and beyond apart from when you play us

Are some Posh fans really stupid enough to believe that Darragh would employ a manager who would bring dull, negative style football to London Road?...Apparently so.

His Rotherham team played us off the park at our gaff 3 years ago...and that's the style of football we should be expecting.
He already did that unwittingly with McCann
