Gillingham v Posh

Post by Chompy » 04 Feb 2018, 01:09

So, what you going to do here Grant?

Go back to 4-3-3 and drop either Marriott or Bogle? Unless one's going to play wide, which can't work can it?

Think his hands are tied here to a degree. Marriott and Bogle both have to start. Maybe go back to the 3-4-1-2? But there's no Gwion to play left wing-back? Worth trying Maddison in that role? He's played left-back after all.

Bond; Hughes Taff Taylor; LDSL Maddison Grant Cooper; Bogle Marriott.

Gills came to our place a while back and did exactly what Southend did, also under a new manager.

If the attitude's not right again, then we all know what's coming.

I fancy we'll win this....

Although we have a poor record here, we play our best football on the break away from home...and if there's one thing we need right now it's a game away from 'Fortress Abax'.

They have had a purple patch and haven't changed their manager....So no mental issues for us here.

No idea what McCann will do team wise....but expect LDSL to start after he managed to beat a player and pass the ball to a team mate in his 20 minute cameo yesterday.

3 points would be welcome....but I don't expect it will signal the start of a winning run. We are far too inconsistent for that and there's plenty of pitfalls waiting around the corner....like Wimbledon at home.

Tbf that's more than the entire side did in 90!

Maybe Leo should have been made Man of the Match ? because he did complete one perfect pass for sure.

Eek. Add Dowwwerty to the mix if not ill.

I've literally no idea what McCann will do here. He has to get two strikers in somewhere and there's no system that suits.

It was working at the start of the season when JM and JM were up front together and we were temporarily flying, the worrying thug about successfully returning to that was when DM admitted on twitter recently that GM has now won him over to the prospect of playing one up... Thats a worry. Interesting was that on one of the football foruns the other day they were suggesting Bogle played on the riight if a feint three at Grimsby...maybe thats an alternative that our tinkerman may opt for?

Maybe that could be one of the six formations for this game.

That required Edwards and Leo as wing backs and we know that's a bad idea. I'd stick 2 up top and grow some cajones before Saturday. McCann needs to pull this out of the bag now though. He's been backed every time by Darragh but failure no longer an option

McCann's employment is no longer an option, he is a failure.

Come on, what did McCann do to you? I mean, it's obviously personal.

Take the emotion out of it, nobody is going to get sacked, or should with the possibility of a play off position

So true stuie. Some of the ridiculous, uneducated calls from the terraces yesterday were really quite sickening.

So now swap Edwards and Leo for Lloyd and Maddison, the shape would be the same. The only problem with that is Madison's reluctance to track back. Failing that though we are almost obligated to play two up front. You can't get a lad from Cardiff in and not play him, especially with the wages he must be costing
