Londonroad.net

Post by tonyp » 29 Jan 2018, 10:39

For those who don't know the site is now down while they upgrade to a newer, better site. They expect to be back some time on Tuesday 30th.
For more updates follow them on twitter @LondonRoadNet or on Facebook www.facebook.com/LondonRoadNet
The good news is that the new site will allow people to view all messages without having to be members.

it's been a bit of a closed shop...i joined it ages ago, forgot my password and couldn't get back on until a few weeks ago...i've never posted on there.

there's one or two good contributors...and a few not so good. like us...they also have a clique.

it's far better controlled and moderated than this one....but they get away with swearing which will surely have to stop now it's open to all.

be interesting to see if bristol can finally get back on there....

What did you do to get banned on there? Reading all the usual stuff on there as a silent member I find it hard to think that getting banned was possible... There seems to be an anything goes policy on .net - usual bullying, cliqueing and swearing on there that is pretty dull. useful for transfer tips often as long as you ignore Darragh's "best mate" Daz (in his own head only) but not much else

Bleugh. Didn't know that clown was on there. There'd be literally no way I'd be able to avoid trolling him if I joined, so probably best that I don't.

He'll deny it but more than once (and I won't say what his 'crime' was ) he pushed to get banned and in the end got his way.

Bullying is just pathetic a description frankly, I get some serious stick on there and don't cry about it, I may be considered a part of the clique but that doesn't protect me and nor should it.

Apart from LRE page the Fred Drift part of .net very often has pleas from members old and new about particular services or advice on a massive array of subjects and the regulars are always helpful even with some banter involved.

It comes into its own when things like CTSF or other 'charity' events are organised and the generosity of .net members takes my breath away at times. Mind you I have to say POSH fans in general considering there are not many of us are incredible when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets.

It obviously does something right overall as despite its supposed shortcoming it has been going a bloody long time, has some great footfall numbers and imo gives a great deal of pleasure.

As much as I use and abuse this site for advertising purposes ie for various events, sometimes to extract the urine out of some and to join in with a bit of banter with (normally the same few) people.

Room for both of course but if I had to choose it really would be easy.
