It was good to see Simon Davies and Matthew Etherington back where they started.

The match was reminiscent of the Bury game: nursing a slender, barely-merited one-goal lead, then profiting from a central-defender-sized hole after the red cards for Marriott's goal against Bury and Cooper's goal against Oldham. Obviously playing against ten men has something to recommend it.

I was quite impressed by Morais' play when he was lying deeper than usual: I thought he showed a good awareness and range of passing -- as we saw for our third goal at Villa park.

I'm confused, I didn't watch the game obviously, I didn't even listen, but just going by those that attended there was one player I didn't expect to see in the team of the week, and it wasn't Forrester.

These 'teams of the day'' mean nothing....

And the fact that Hughes made the eleven just about sums it all up.

He's never ever better than bang average.
