13 penalties taken by the two sides were exceptional efforts, apart from Luton's second which Bond got a hand to and the final one by Frankie Musonda which Bond saved.
:stupid:
Except that Musonda missed his penalty.
Penalties are either converted or missed.
That is only from the point of view of an outfield player. From the point of view of a goalkeeper, he either lets it in or saves it! Penalties are only missed if they are off target and the keeper has nothing to do with the outcome.
If (theoretically) nobody had been in between the goal posts Musonda would have scored the goal because it would have ended up in the net. Bond WAS there and hence he saved the goal from being scored.
Bond saved the penalty, Musonda took a very poor one!

Chompy is right this time. Ta.
Musonda missed it.
Ask his team mates. Ask the Luton fans. Ask Musonda himself.

Frankie Musonda's effort was so bad that Bond was able to stop it going into the net. Hardly a great save!

Amazing that we're being told by someone the other side of the world that Kanu didn't do much. Though he did plenty myself.

Poor performance but it did feel like an emotional let-down after the weekend and it was hard not to be impressed by Luton's second stringers.

Some cracking pens by our lot.
:stupid: must admit to LOL at your comment Tony. I'm sure Darragh was very happy that we got through to the next round.

Some of us, lucky enough to be at the match, were commenting how good Kanu was. Without the serial whingers on his back, who knows how well he can do?
We go again...

It seems to me that none of them were up to their usual standards (except Bond).

I agree entirely, what I also think is that keepers make a decision to go one way or the other in this case Bond chose correctly. I'd like to know the percentages but an awful lot of penalties either seem to be blasted straight down the middle or dinked up and over the keeper. If the percentages were favourable it may pay for the keeper to stand up straight and not dive at all.
