"It's an option that came to us, but the club have tried with Ipswich and he seems expensive. I'll advise the chairman and Barry to stay away from it, as it's a big financial commitment." says The Gaff-er.

If the gaff-er got him he would give Lopez a break and play him left back with Kieffer at right back....'That'd fox them he would say to himself.

I can see the discussion now....
Fry: "Granty, should we go after Kieffer Moore alongside Jack, with even more assists from Marcus?"
Grant: "Hmmmm, sounds expensive, maybe we should avoid this one"
Fry: "Wouldn't you like the 2 top scorers in L1, think about the promotion options with that combination. We'll tear up the opposition"
Grant: "I'll stick with what we've got. plenty of cover upfront"
Fry: "Do you remember the Holy Trinity Granty?"
Grant: "Maybe I'll give Gormley another chance...."

We were never going to sign Keiffer Moore in a million years, just like we were never going to sign Hanson from the Blades. Hes gone to Bury. This club just wants non league hopefuls who might just make us a few bob. Unfortunately im afraid those days have gone now and If we want success like McBlarney sprouts off about then we are going to have to pay for it just like other successful clubs do. Will that happen? No! That aint never going to happen.

Whilst I'm not his biggest fan but in reality on gates of 4-5k we have little options with FFP.

Definitely. But not only football. Cricketers are retiring only to turn up again earning big money in IPL or Big Bash, for example.

If that's reality then can you explain why the likes of Bury on gates of 3-4 k can sign someone like Hanson?

Perhaps because they have very little else, we are at the top of FFP in this league they are probably near the bottom

It appears....

We had a bid accepted on a player that we couldn't afford and the manager didn't really want.

You couldn't make it up...
