Strikes me there's an obvious divide between the good-enoughs and not good-enoughs in the current squad.
Who would you sell, loan, keep, buy in January?
Sell: Baldwin, Lloyd, Doughty, Anderson, Gormley, LDSL, Chettle, Nabi
Loan: Tibbetts, Shephard, Cartwright, Freestone, Penfold
Keep: O'Malley, Taff, Taylor, Gwion, Forrester, Maddison, Grant, Marriott, Morias, Penny, Hughes, Kanu
Buy: Never take chances in January, go for two or three proven names who'll be first-team regulars. Buy Bond, Kieffer Moore, Jon Nolan.

1-2 Blackburn, 7-1 Poshies, 7-2 Draw. 1-2? Like finding it on the floor!

Re: January japery
In contrast, for reasons previously given, I wouldn't sell Miller, but think we definitely will, wouldn't sell LDSL as there is just to much prospect in there to do so, wouldn't sell Baldwin because it surely is just a confidence crisis with him at the moment and wouldn't sell Lloyd as he has surely done enough to prove himself a very good squad player!
So we're at odds there! lol
But the rest I agree, and would add Shephard to your list as clearly the boss has never heard of 4-4-2 and no one will convince me he is a RWB
Would loan out Kanu as surely at least one new striker will arrive next month and he needs experience which GM doesn't appear to want to give him currently which as a 17 year old is understandable.

Need to get some money in from somewhere! One of the 'bigger' names has to go in order for more to come in.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest that if a big bid came in for Marriott, then he will be gone. Said many times before that this is a selling club not a success club!

Re: January japery
Two strikers and a creative midfielder...and if McCann wants to continue with 3-5-3 then add 2 wing backs to the list
Miller will go...if anyone wants him. Anderson and Kanu need loaning out and there will have to be a sale too.
One things for sure...We can't go into the second part of the season with this current squad and the state it's in.

Again I slightly disagree, I dont think there is much wrong with the squad, simply the way we use them!
Re: January japery
We can't sell Marriott and we need to keep Gwion.
If Maddison or LDSL has to be sold in order to balance the books then so be it.

money may well talk. every player may well have a price, but to describe the chairman as greedy is unfounded. and does not put your views of commercialism in a sound light.
He has a well established business model which we all know. He has kept Posh afloat when so many other clubs have hit the rocks and sunk, some without trace. And in that time we have had some wonderful times and seen some wonderful football
He like many other Chairmen has to get the balance right between commercial solvency and sporting triumph. I will see he is well above average for what he has achieved
I will always thank him for that, and ask anybody to compare and contrast against any other sustained period of ownership of PUFC. And then compare and contrast against most other clubs operating on a limited budget.
Perhaps he has not been greedy enough for sporting triumph, but at least we will live to fight another day

Re: January japery
DMac has put in much more than he has taken out.
I hope he doesn't sell Marriott or Maddison.
The problem is does he have any more money to plough into the club? Without it we are not going to be able to buy the players we desperately need in January.

There's other Clubs that would have Darragh in a heart beat.
Nobody knows where we'd be without him.

Nobody knows but most of us are pretty sure we'd be up the proverbial creek.poshnipper wrote: ↑11 Dec 2017, 08:04There's other Clubs that would have Darragh in a heart beat.

If he's interested in making a quick buck he isn't doing a very good job at it.pleasureboy60 wrote: ↑11 Dec 2017, 10:14I still feel the chairman is more interested in making a quick buck buying and selling players than he is gaining promotion. The wheels have long fallen off his sell on wagon and he doesn't have a plan B. We are a mid table ,division 1 team, with mid table ambitions and that's where we will stay unless policies at the club change and that ain't going to happen anytime yet!
We are mid table but I believe that both DMac and McCann would prefer us to be higher. That really should be obvious to everybody.

Once again I'll point out where we might be without him. Look at others who were in a similar position to us when he arrived. Now look at the table and see where Chester, Stockport, Torquay and many others are. We are lucky to have him and if he wishes to buy and sell players to make a profit, not only for the club but to to regain some of his investment then we should as fans be fully appreciative of what he has done and what he is trying to achieve on gates smaller than the population of a Cambridgeshire village.pleasureboy60 wrote: ↑11 Dec 2017, 10:14I still feel the chairman is more interested in making a quick buck buying and selling players than he is gaining promotion. Re: January japery
Spot on. We're very lucky to have him, albeit his dreams of doing what he wanted with the club he owned pretty much went up in smoke in December 2007. That was hardly his fault though.bristleposh wrote: ↑11 Dec 2017, 10:31Once again I'll point out where we might be without him. Look at others who were in a similar position to us when he arrived.
