Seriously though,i remember going to Scunthorpe and we thrashed them 4-0,Westley had lots of banter with the fans,
Posh were looking good for a playoff spot. Then Washington,a striker it took us 2 years to nurture, was off to QPR and the season fell apart.
Yeah, that's what did it. Not the ridiculous signings and square pegs in round holes. He was perhaps our worst manager of all time.

WESTLEY was a 'nut case.'
... as was proved at Newport County. Played 29, won 6, drew 9 and lost 14. Newport were subsequently heading for non-league status until caretaker manager Michael Flynn took over and saved them with seven wins in the remaining 12 games.
I wish Barnet all the luck in the world with this clown in charge!

Looks like i'm on my own regarding Westley! I'm certainly no fan of his and there is no doubt he lost his marbles after Washington left.I just hope we don't have another season ruined by a poorly timed sale of one of our best players. We all understand the need to balance the books but wait until the summer FFS!

Nabi is proof if it were needed that McCann has his faves and no matter what he does Nabi will never be given a chance whereas LDSL plays regardless

Jack Byrne...another we were reported to be after has signed for Oldham from Wigan.

Makes sense I suppose....He wouldn't have had to move house.
Always amazes me, that most football transfers are very local
Not only that Yorkshire/Lancashire/Manchester have the advantage of clusters of clubs throughout the football league with the added attraction of the big citites in their locality, which some people forget. Whereas Peterborough have nothing to offer but Tesco Extra.

Which therefore adds the necessity of wage auxiliaries to secure a contract.

Alan Swann in the PT today: "They hope to add players to the squad before the weekend rather than let anyone go. An attacking midfielder remains a prime target."

Why are we chasing an additional attacking midfielder? We now have 4 in Maddison, Edwards, Lloyd and Ward plus Lopes, Anderson, Grant, Doughty and Forrester in other midfield positions. Admittedly Edwards is injured but it seems short sighted to replace him with anything but a loan player.

Surely this means that the club are preparing for the departure of either Edwards, Lloyd or Maddison. Is it a good idea to bring in an additional attacking midfielder? Does anyone need to leave to make room?

All positions we have played this season utilise 1 or 2 attacking midfielders out wide or centrally. Could McCann want to play 4-2-3-1 with 3 attacking midfielders and therefore wants more depth in that position?

We've been shy of an attacking midfielder all season tbf.

More a creative Midfielder...

I don't see Lloyd Lopes Anderson or Doughty creating much.

And Edwards is out until the spring.

We have attacking quality out wide in midfield - which is demonstrated week in week out by the likes of Maddison and Edwards (when he is fit).
Lloyd is still inconsistent in a wide role and Ward needs time to develop also in a wide role.
Grant and Forrester are more impressive in a deeper position.
Doughty and Lopes have not been consistent, while Anderson is yet to reproduce his form prior to the two serious injuries.
We are short of that final piece in the jigsaw - a quality attacking central midfielder.
And if, as likely, Marriott is sold before the end of the month, we will need a quality replacement.

Is it likely that JM leaves? Possible, likely, probable or unlikely. We're all guessing tbh.
