Andy Mills

Post by Wycliffe » 22 Nov 2017, 18:40

It is with great sadness that PISA 2000 announce the passing away of long time committee member and well known POSH fan Andy Mills.
Millsy for the past few years has done the thankless task of being the membership secretary and despite being very ill only relinquished his duties a couple of weeks ago.
Known as a gentle giant he had a massive POSH programme collection and an encyclopedic knowledge of all things to do with the club. He also told some terrible jokes.
He really was one of the good guys and you'll never hear a bad word about him...apart from those bloody jokes.
Our love and support goes to his wife Helen, all PISA and POSH will miss him greatly.
We are hoping to do a little something on the day of the Blackburn match in tribute.

I didn't actually know he was ill, typically of him he never complained. Known him since we played Sunday football 25 years ago and against him at the free kicks tournaments. As Adi says, you'll never hear a bad word about him.

It'd be lovely if the club would organise a tribute of some kind.

I'm absolutely sure that Adi will be on to that. It's the least we could all do and if there is anything that I can do to help, please get in contact Adi.

A club spokesman announced today that a minutes applause will be held for Andy at the Blackburn game on December 9th.

Top stuff from Posh for one of their own.

They are also inviting Helen and guest(s) to the game for a meal etc.

Plans are afoot for an end of season memorial match or tournament in Andy's memory.

POSH and PISA will be the poorer without the big man. :(

'Pub Talk' on .net has been re-named 'Fred Drift' in honour of Andy, a very fitting constant reminder of our departed fellow Poshie. Well done .net! :clap2:

Absolutely gutted.
Yes we knew he was very ill but he was still always joking and with a smile on his face.
Bless his heart. Gonna miss him.
Lovely man
RIP Fred xxx

Nice to see some respect for a former supporter rather than former players, managers. Obviously I didn't get to see Andy and Helen as often as the majority of you, but did see him enough to know he was a wonderful caring human being, who made freinds easily and made strangers feel at their ease. Well done to dotnet, goes to show they can do some things compassionately.
