Posh v Pompey

Post by superposh80 » 19 Nov 2017, 07:51

Another lesson for McCann?

Pompey are starting to find their feet in league one, will be backed by a large following...but more importantly have a very good experienced manager who sets his sides up organised and difficult to beat.

Another defeat here sends us lower half of the table...and further away from the challenging position at Christmas that Darragh demanded.

I'm sure I posted similar before but can't see it now. Scrap forming unless we can get a bit of a run going
They probably deleted it on the grounds of negativity.

13 points in 13 games....That's 'scrap' material isn't it?
good job we got 12 points in the first 4 games, so been down hill since then
Yes it's grim isn't it... Pompey, Tuesday night.... All points to nil points doesn't it?

Lost 4
Goals for 10
Goals against 12

Last 8 away games

On the basis we've managed 10 goals in 8 games what makes you think we'll bag 4 in 1? Tuesday night....the Pompey prediction looks right if Captain Calamity is playing to gimme them at least 1 goal

I think it's about time we started scoring from the many chances we have every game.
In this game we'll come good and score 4. In doing so we'll allow Portsmouth a couple of breaks so that they can squeeze in 2.
As a matter of fact Sky Bet are offering 50-1 if 4-2 is the final score.
I'll tell you after the game how much I put on. :)

Literally no point trying to predict what the current mob will do.

Turn up and hope for the best is all we can do.

Luke McGee...good, mixed or bad reception?

Doesn't have 4-2 written all over it at all.

I'd be more concerned about another smash and grab, with Pompey flooding midfield and letting the wily Brett Pitman do his thing up top.

Fair to say Connor is now our number 1?

He's looked very good so far and guess we won't be extending Bond's stay come January?

Don't think we need him tbf and the money saved on wages will be better spent on a striker.

Referee: Craig Hicks has officiated 18 games in 2017/18, showing 70 yellow cards and two red cards so far.

Watch out Anthony Grant and Marcus Maddison. :)

Pompey had over 18000 to watch their game on Saturday (against the mighty Southend) so they will be expected to bring quite a few to the Abax. It's going to be a mild night temp wise so could be an higher than average attendance for Tues night. I think Posh could grab a win purely because of our need to do just that, if that makes sense.
And of course to shut up the doom mongers.

I do fund it funny when people get referred to as doom mongers when all we are doing is giving an opinion on our season so far. Both Darragh and Grant were positive that we should be pushing for promotion when over the last 13 games our form would put us nearer the bottom than the top. Every game I'm always hoping otherwise (sometimes being a Posh fan, hope is all we have), but from where I sit I can't see how we'll change the current situation. We should have the players to do well, but there seems to be an inability of the management structure to get the best out of them. Maybe I should just stick to hope and pretend everything is looking rosy, or maybe I need to change my seat to see things through a blue tinted lens!

We'll grab a win purely because we need to?

Tony Bloom must be quaking in his boots.
